John McGowan,

Head of R&D, Gastroenterology

John McGowan serves as Head of Research and Development, Gastroenterology. John has 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development. Prior to working with Sebela Pharmaceuticals, John was the VP of Clinical Affairs at Braintree Laboratories, Inc. He held clinical leadership positions at Braintree Laboratories between 2001 and 2018 and oversaw the development programs leading to the approvals of Braintree’s marketed gastroenterology products during this period. Before joining Braintree Laboratories, John worked in clinical operations for a contract research organization in the Boston area (Boston Biostatistics, Inc).

John holds an MPH from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a BS in Biology from the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
